Hawthorn folklore revolves around its role as a sacred, magical tree associated with fairies, protection, and the Beltane festival. Often considered a "fairy tree" guarding the entrance to the Otherworld, it is highly revered in Celtic tradition. While linked to love and fertility in May, bringing hawthorn blossom indoors is traditionally considered unlucky, often linked to impending death or disease. You've been warned.
