I got new bedlinen for our apartment in town so here are so pics. Lovely fresh rustic look, if there is such a thing.

I never tired of making a place exciting even just for myself! How about the Ballerina? So cute adorable.

The gas lamp is an old piece, probably at least 100 years old. We converted it, well I get an idea and then Tony has to do it.

He is so accommodating and patient with all my crazy ideas. Took more than 8 weeks to obtain all the bits to put it into working order. Some of the parts I had to buy from US, they have everything over there!

The wall tapestry came all the way from an estate in America. Very faded but you can get an impression of how it would have looked in the old days.

I like our little apartment in town, it is centrally located, very convenient for eating out, shopping or just hanging around in Town Centre. It is opposite to M&S Foodhall and the Shambles.

I love the history of this old building. The spiral stairs with the giant marble acorn are to die for. I have signed up into the Management Company so I can ensure common areas are well maintained. I would hate to see zero upkeep on such a fabulous building.

Yes I am a right Busybody but nothing like doing it yourself if you want something done right.

We have been letting it out as holiday let for almost a month and we had very good guests who took bins out and kept place very tidy.

This is Rowntree House located right in town centre on the Pavement, It was Joseph Rowntree family home. It has been acquired by a developer and converted into 8 one bedroom apartments over the last 18 months.

The ground floor shop used to be Rowntree family sweetshop, it has been occupied by Pizza Hut since 1987 and the top floors were left derelict for over 40 years. It has the most amazing staircase leading to the apartments. The Rowntree Society has provided a display cabinet with artefacts discovered during the renovation and some historical photographs of the family are displayed on the walls up the stairs.

There is another plainer staircase to get to the sweetshop from their home on the side of the building. This is now the stairs when you open the main door to get to the apartments.

We bought the top floor 1 bedroom apartment facing Marks & Spencer Foodhall. It will be used as Holiday let when it is ready. I am busy organising furniture and other bits for the apartment which I hope to show you soon. It is a small apartment in a stunning building and rather convenient location.
