Having traveled extensively, staying in all sorts of places, we thought we’d take all those ideas we gathered to create our own Boutique cottages just East of York that are luxurious, unique, very private and decorated with antiques and paintings.

Sunday done right 👌

Haggis from the local butcher veg straight from a farmer in the village, proper local produce, no fuss, just quality ingredients.

Neaps, tatties, haggis, a splash of whisky sauce and a dash of malt vinegar. Nothing fancy on the plate, nothing “Instagram pretty”… but honestly, it’s one of the tastiest meals going.

Staying in our luxury cottages makes it even easier, simple, comforting food you can cook with ease while supporting local suppliers, farmers and producers at the same time.

Simple, honest, delicious… and a proper taste of the local economy 🍽️🥃

A country cottage, a private chef, candles lit, wine poured… honestly, this is how breaks should be done ✨🍷👨‍🍳

The lovely Gilly is with us tonight creating a chef’s table experience for some VIP guests, fresh local ingredients, beautiful food, and absolutely no washing up. The hardest decision of the evening? Which bottle to open next…

Sun out. River walk. Village pub. You know what that means… wet dog smell incoming 🐶🌞

We wandered along the river soaking up the views, stopped off at the village pub for a drink, while the hounds launched themselves into the water at every opportunity possible. Happy dogs? Absolutely. Fresh-smelling cottage? Absolutely not 😂

That’s the joy of a countryside escape though, muddy paws at the door, sleepy dogs by your feet, and a luxury self-catering cottage near York to come back to after a day outdoors.

Good views, good walks, good pub… questionable dog aroma included free of charge.

For those old enough to remember the real sibling battles…

“Who’s having the cream off the milk?”

You’d race to the door ready for victory, only to find the birds had beaten you to it, pecking through the tops like tiny feathered burglars.

One more reason we love glass bottles: less plastic, support for local milk rounds, and proper doorstep nostalgia.

Our local supplier brings milk, eggs, butter, OJ, potatoes and more… although this morning our butter had been absolutely savaged by the Beast of Skirpenbeck 🐾

Turns out the local wildlife now sees our doorstep deliveries as an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Running a holiday cottage business in the East Riding of Yorkshire = peaceful life 🌿

Us four on a “quick road trip” = absolute chaos 🚗💨

had us fully embracing steampunk vibes… outfits questionable, confidence unmatched ⚙️
We were clearly ready to be interviewed for national news in The Fat Badger (Jez) … sadly, they weren’t ready for us 😌

York, Whitby, Knaresborough & Bridlington: a blur of wrong turns, snacks, and us wondering how we’re trusted to run a business 😂

Wouldn’t change it though, this is why we love Yorkshire 💛
