To our amazing customers, we need to address the absolute garbage published by York Press today. It takes a special kind of ignorance to publicly attack an independent, family-run business that has spent 10 years working our absolute socks off to survive—especially in today’s brutal economy. But clearly, York Press and their newly minted "food critic" Nadia have no shame. This isn't the first time they’ve launched a targeted attack against us, and frankly, we are absolutely sick of this disgusting "journalism."
Let's get a few things straight. Our entire kitchen staff is Thai. We cook TRUE, authentic Thai food, exactly how it is supposed to be prepared.
If Nadia actually knew the first thing about authentic Thai cuisine, she wouldn’t be complaining about a layer of oil on a Green Curry. Any actual food reviewer knows that traditional Thai coconut curries are supposed to split (it’s a technique called taek mun) to release the natural coconut oils and fragrant aromatics. And complaining about slow-cooked brisket having fat and connective tissue? That is literally what makes a traditional Massaman curry rich and authentic. It’s not our fault if your basic, uncultured taste buds are only used to westernized, watered-down approximations of Thai food and dry cuts of meat.
It’s incredibly hard running a local hospitality business right now. We pour our hearts, souls, and endless hours into serving our community, and we simply do not need this kind of uneducated, malicious crap from a local paper that should be supporting independent businesses, not trying to tear them down.
So, to Nadia and the York Press: we kindly invite you to take your amateur hit-piece, pack up your completely uneducated palates, and politely go fu yourselves.
You promised in your article you wouldn't be venturing back, and we couldn't be happier about that. We only want to serve people who actually understand and appreciate real Thai food anyway.
