A recent visit to was a powerful reminder of the value of local community support.

Around forty volunteers help prepare and serve approximately three hundred meals every Sunday to homeless people and others in need across the city.

The food, prepared fresh by the volunteers, was of a very high standard, and the setting in the grounds of King’s Manor, generously supported by York St John University, provides an excellent home for the service.

We were pleased to contribute orchard apples from the garden team, together with a crumble prepared by Head Chef Ashley Binder and the pastry team, along with toiletries and dog treats.

HOPING York Street Kitchen is Middlethorpe Hall’s charity partner for 2026, and we look forward to supporting their work further throughout the year, including fundraising for the charity cycle challenge between Mostar and Dubrovnik in October, which Lionel will be participating in.

Treatments can be chosen around how you want to feel: rested, refreshed, eased, grounded, or simply looked after for a while.

Sunflowers for St Leonard's Hospice🌻

Our garden team have been growing sunflowers from seed in the greenhouses, and they are now on sale at the Spa.

We’ve added some lovely flowers from the cutting garden to help brighten them up. More sunflowers should be ready over the next few days as they come into bloom.

£7 each, with all proceeds going to St Leonard’s Hospice.

Pop into the Spa if you’d like to pick one up and support a wonderful local charity.
