Sleeps 10 (2 double beds, 2 twin/super kings, 2 single rooms) with step free bed & bathroom. 3 bathrooms. Deer Park (aka The Gothick House) is a much loved family holiday home in 20 acres of Capability Brown park. From spring 2015 you will be able to rent Deer Park for your own holidays. The house sleeps 11 comfortably, in four double bedrooms and three singles, with three bathrooms. There is a la

rge farmhouse kitchen, breakfast room, comfortable sitting room with woodburner, dining room and amazing 18th drawing room with views across the park. Guests are welcome to use the park as their own: great for hide and seek, tree climbing, den making, stream paddling and generally messing about. Or simply sit quiet and watch the amazing variety of wildlife that a historic park supports. For days out, Deer Park, on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds, is less than 30 minutes from a huge range of family attractions (Castle Howard, Flamingo Land, Pickering Steam Railway, Eden Camp, Sledmere House) the Yorkshire Coast, York and its many attractions, and excellent walking, riding and cycling (The North Yorks Moors, The Wolds). Did you know North Yorkshire is the waterfall capital of England?

They make the best adventure walks and they're plentiful across the Moors. Here are three absolute bangers you can get to from Deer Park:
🌊 Hayburn Wyke - a waterfall, a cobbled beach and rockpools. 10/10 no notes
🌊 Falling Foss - 30 ft waterfall, swimmable pool (although a scramble to get to it) and a tea room! Perfect
🌊 Mallyan Spout - 60 ft fall at the end of an idyllic scrambly walk through a proper Lord of the Rings gorge. And you can get there on the steam train!

'Deer Park is a real treasure, set in its own grounds, with six bedrooms it was ideal for a family get together. The outdoor spaces were amazing for relaxing, walks and treasure hunts'

Holiday moments no.2: settling in with your favourite book or boxset.

Just you, a comfy corner and a few hours of relaxation. Maybe a cup of tea or something chilled 🥃 .

We have a lot of comfy nooks at Deer Park, so take your pick: sofa downstairs, sofa upstairs, window seats with lovely views, hammock with the birds chirping. What will you pick?

When do your dogs get the 'zoomies?'

Nothing better than watching a happy dog relaxing in our enclosed garden with plenty of room to let off steam. They're enjoying themselves, and you get to relax too!

Your thoughts please: are you a long lie in person or an early riser on holiday?

Deer Park House is a very peaceful place and we take great care to make sure you're going to get a wonderful night's sleep: comfy beds, black out blinds, luxury linens.

On the other hand lots of guests love the early morning: it's the best time to see deer, weasels and birdlife, you can hear the dawn chorus and plan the day's adventures.

Maybe we should offer alarm clocks? What would you prefer? Let us know in the comments 😀
