🎉 Well done to all the athletes who completed the York Marathon today! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Once again, the marathon route brought the runners right past the entrance of our park. Some of our fantastic guests were out there cheering them on and offering encouragement as they dashed past. 🙌
At around the 4-mile mark, everyone still looked remarkably fresh and full of energy! We truly applaud the incredible commitment and dedication it takes to get involved in an event like this. 🥇✨

🐾 WE DID IT! A dog-friendly beach day out to remember! 🌊🐶

If you are staying with us at York Caravan Park, this is the perfect North Yorkshire coastal itinerary for you and your four-legged best friends. We headed out to explore two incredible dog-friendly beaches, and they did not disappoint!

Here is how our day went:
📍 Stop 1: Cayton Bay (Near Scarborough)
🚗 The Drive: Just a 55-minute drive from York Caravan Park with incredibly easy access straight onto the A64.
🅿️ Parking: You can find free roadside parking or use the paid car park (£1.50 for an hour) right at the top of the cliff.
⚠️ Fair Warning: The path down to the bay is STEEP! It is no problem if you have four legs, but humans might need a breather!
🏖️ The Reward: Once you hit the sand, it is beautifully flat and opens up into a massive, wide-open space for the dogs to run wild.

📍 Stop 2: Hunmanby Gap
After tackling the climb back up to the car, we headed south towards Filey and Bridlington. We skipped Filey this time and stopped at the very next bay along: Hunmanby Gap.
☕ The Reward: We treated ourselves to a much-needed cuppa and cake at the café, which boasts absolutely fabulous views out to sea. There is a paid carpark close to the cafe and footpath to the beach.

🐾 Why we love these spots:
🗓️ Both bays allow dogs all year round!
🤫 They are much quieter and more relaxed than the main beaches at the larger coastal towns nearby.
