🧀🏅A huge congratulations to our friends at Botton Creamery, whose Summerfields cheese has won Gold at the Great British Food Awards!

Handmade just over the moors in Botton Village, Summerfields is an alpine-style cheese made only in the summer months, when the cows are out grazing the meadows of Danby Dale. The result is a warm, honeyed flavour that we've been proud to feature on our cheeseboard here at The F&H.

What makes it even more special is the story behind it. The cheese is made by Camphill Village Trust, with people they support involved in every step from farm to creamery. Proof that great food and a great purpose go hand in hand 🫶

🍂 This week's starter spotlight from our autumn menu is this gorgeous Confit of Duck Bon Bon!

Rich, slow-cooked duck in a golden, crispy crumb, served on a creamy celeriac remoulade with venison salami, little jewels of blackberry gel and a fresh watercress salad. The perfect way to begin a cosy autumn meal with us.

🚗✨What a sight to wake up to! Last week we were delighted to welcome members of the Alfa Romeo club for three nights here at The F&H, and our car park has never looked so glamorous.

Seeing these beautiful classic Alfas lined up against the Yorkshire countryside was a real treat for our team, and it was an absolute pleasure looking after such a lovely group.

We were so touched to receive a thank you from Paul, who organised the tour afterwards:

💬 "I have stayed in thousands of hotels over the years and have organised many similar trips. The service and care we received at the F&H was outstanding."

Paul also gave a special mention to our Helen, whose personality and good humour went down a storm with the group, and said several guests commented on the luxurious feel of their rooms 🫶

Our talented chefs have created a Pork T Bone with caramelised pear, buttered kale and golden Parmentier potatoes, all finished with a rich c***r and whole grain mustard sauce. Hearty, seasonal and full of flavour, it's exactly what we want as the nights draw in 🧡

The F&H had the absolute pleasure of hosting a very special celebration for the Parramore family. 🥂

It was a joy working alongside Mark to create a bespoke menu for the occasion, paired beautifully with a thoughtfully chosen selection of wines.

From the laughter to the smiles around the table, it's safe to say a wonderful evening was had by all.

✨A new season calls for a new menu, and this dish is a beautiful place to start… Pan-fried Scallops with butternut squash, coconut and naga tomato chilli sauce, finished with pickled cucumber. A dish that balances warmth and spice with something fresh and light - perfect as the seasons turn.
