Friargate House this morning… 🥰

We stayed last night and honestly… I didn’t want to leave.

You know when you wake up somewhere and just think
“yeah… this is a bit special” ✨

Fizzy water in hand (of course 😂), all cosy, nowhere to rush off to…
and I actually slowed down for five minutes (rare for me!)

Now I’m laid here thinking…
“I really need to crack on with my own house” 😂

I know I bang on about our places…
but it’s because I genuinely love them.

This one just hits different.
It’s got that proper boutique, treat-yourself feel without even trying.

Also fair warning…
⚠️ you won’t want to get out of bed
⚠️ you’ll start looking at your own house like “hmmm…”
⚠️ you’ll probably want to book it again before you’ve even left

I’ve not updated on here for a while — we’ve been knee-deep in our own house move… but yesterday reminded me exactly why having the right team in your SA business is EVERYTHING.

We’re fully booked at Friargate House right through to New Year — incredible… until yesterday happened.

Changeover day.
Cleaners arrive.
Open the door and… the property is FLOODED.
A burst pipe. Boiler losing pressure.
Water everywhere.
And the next guests due at 4pm. 😳💦

Most SA owners at this point would be spiralling…
Thinking about cancelled stays, refunds, loss of bookings, damage to reputation — full meltdown mode.

But when you have the right power team behind you?
You don’t panic.
You deal with the issue at speed.

Zero lost bookings. Zero refunds. Zero drama for the guests.

By 4pm, they walked into a warm, immaculate, beautiful home ready for their weekend in York… completely unaware of the chaos earlier.

And the best part?
Because we’ve built the right team, we didn’t need to worry — even while juggling our own impending move.

✨ Expanding our investor panel ✨

I’ve had a few conversations recently with people who wanted their money to work harder than it does sat in the bank (let’s face it — interest rates there don’t give much back!).

Through our property projects, we’ve been able to support investors in achieving around 10% returns — and it’s been amazing to see the difference it makes for them.

✨ Friargate House – Back with the Stays Family! ✨

Our gorgeous Grade II-listed Friargate House in York city centre is now officially managed by Stays of York – the same fab team who look after our other York gems. 🏰

We originally inherited a different agent when we bought the house, but we’ve now brought it under one roof with the people who know our properties inside out.

It’s a soft relaunch as we’ve still got a few extra touches in the works to make your stay even more special (you know we love to go the extra mile 😉).
