Giles Coren says York is the UK's new foodie capital, and after our phenomenal dinner tonight at Roots York, we're certainly not about to argue! Best bit of all? It's less than 15 minutes walk from The Purple Door! Stay with us, save the money you would have spent on a cab, and enjoy an extra sharing dish. We HIGHLY recommend the beef-fat beetroot...

Calling all coffee snobs! And people who just want to chill out with a cuppa in a cosy corner! We've updated our website to include a list of all our favourite cafes in York. The only problem is that it might take longer than a weekend to visit them all. Oh well, I guess you'll just have to come and stay again!
