Set on a gated park on the edge of picturesque Newton Upon Derwent, and only 10 minutes from historic York. Brand new in November 2021 and comprising of: Air conditioning, free WiFi, Smart TVs in lounge & both bedrooms. Both bedrooms have a hairdryer. Fully equipped kitchen & dining area, Utility room with washer/dryer, Iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, 1 King size master bedroom with walk in w

ardrobe & en-suite Shower & WC, 1 further King size bedroom, 1 family bathroom and large open plan lounge with 2 sofas, 1 is a sofa bed opening to a full size double bed. Double sliding doors opening onto large decked area. New private hot-tub to the side. High quality furnishings and equipment. Towels and bedding included and the kitchen is fully equipped with appliances including dishwasher, pans, kettle, toaster, slow cooker, sandwich toaster/grill, crockery and cutlery. We also provide a high chair. Private parking for 2-3 cars. Oakwood Retreat is situated in the rolling landscape of the Yorkshire East Riding. Excellent for walking and cycling. The park has only 14 lodges, spaced amid the 6-acre grassed and landscaped plot. Located on the edge of the picturesque village of Newton Upon Derwent, and within easy walking distance where you will find the fabulous village pub! The village of Wilberfoss is 1 mile away with a pub, shops and amenities. Nearby bus services into York, Pocklington and Hull. Easy road links to explore the Yorkshire countryside and coast, attractions and history. Excellent for walking, cycling or simply immerging yourself in nature. 📣OFFICIAL APOLOGY STATEMENT

To whom it may concern,

We, at Starlight Lodge, would like to issue a formal and heartfelt apology.

It has come to our attention that our luxurious hot tub, scenic Yorkshire views, and cosy lodge atmosphere have been causing an unexpected spike in:

Excessive relaxation,

Unscheduled naps,

And an unreasonable amount of “I don’t ever want to go home.”

We deeply regret the inconvenience caused when guests realise they can no longer tolerate everyday life without a private hot tub and peaceful countryside retreat.
We also apologise for the uncontrollable desire to rebook immediately — sometimes before checking out…you know who you are…

We promise to do better.
Unfortunately, “better” may include fluffier towels, warmer bubbles, and even more reasons to never want to leave.
