Some things just make you smile every time you see them.

This beautiful tapestry in The Hive is one of those.

Designed by Laura at , it’s inspired by the abundance of nature and wild places around us, the design includes foraging baskets filled with woodland treasures, tiny woodland creatures tucked into the corners, and little details you notice more each time you look.

It just makes me smile.
It somehow sums up everything we wanted The Hive to be… wild, beautiful, creative and joyful.

It softens the space, adds warmth, and makes you want to curl up, slow down and stay a while.

Everyone who’s seen it so far has said the same thing, it feels a little bit magical.

Now it’s found its home in The Hive, I realised I needed one of my own too… so I ordered the cream version for home.

This little piece of Earth means a lot to us.

Before we found Eden Fold, like many families, we’d been through a challenging few years. Life felt busy, noisy, and a little out of balance.

Eden Fold gave us something we didn’t realise we needed — space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with what really matters.

As we’ve started to heal and rebalance, the land has too.

This winter alone we’ve:
Planted over 300 trees
Enhanced hedgerows
Created wildlife habitats

And slowly, nature is beginning to flourish again.

There’s something really special about that connection.
As we care for the land, it cares for us.

This Earth Day, we’re grateful to be part of something bigger.

And this is just the beginning.

Introducing Hollow Oak 🌿

Tucked at the very top of the meadow, Hollow Oak looks out across sweeping countryside — and towards a beautiful old oak tree that quietly anchors the landscape below.

It’s the kind of place where you can’t help but slow down.

Over the past few months we’ve been busy restoring this cabin, it’s handcrafted from timber with large glass windows, we wanted to create a space that naturally brings the outside in. Inside, the space is simple and striking — raw wood, clean lines, and soft textures that create a calm, grounding feel.

At its heart, a comfy double bed with luxury bedding sits perfectly positioned to soak up the view — just imagine slow mornings, coffee in hand, nowhere else you need to be.

Step outside and you’ll find the undercover outdoor kitchen, set up with everything you need for easy, relaxed cooking — breakfast in the fresh air, long lunches, and dinners as the sun sets behind the hills.

As evening comes, you can light the fire, stargaze, and listen to the quiet hum of nature around you.

We’ve got a squatter at Eden Fold…

When we bought the land, this old railway carriage was already here, tucked between the meadow and the woods, overlooking the space where people will gather around the large fire pit.

It needs a lot of work, but we’ve always known it could become something really special.

A cosy cabin.
A wood-fired sauna.
An honesty café for walkers and guests.

We’re still deciding what its next chapter should be.

For now though, it seems someone else has moved in.

Over the past few weeks our wildlife camera has captured a barn owl visiting regularly, quietly dropping in once the sun goes down.

So until the renovation begins, the carriage has a rather beautiful temporary resident.

And we’d love your help deciding its future…
What should the railway carriage become?
Cabin?
Sauna?
Honesty café/ shop?

Walks in every direction.

One of the things we love most about Eden Fold is that the adventure starts right from the door.

Head out and you’ll find yourself wandering through the beautiful countryside of the Howardian Hills National Landscape (still getting used to that name… we rather liked Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

Within minutes you can be exploring the incredible grounds of Castle Howard, or simply following quiet footpaths through rolling fields, woods and beautiful villages.

It’s the kind of place where you spread out a map, pick a direction, and see where the day takes you.

The first photo in this post captures that moment perfectly… the final video reveals the slightly less peaceful but very fun moment when we took the photo.
A huge thank you to our brilliant photographer who is always more than willing to jump on the bed to get the perfect shot.

Cabin glow.

Sunlight through the windows.
Warmth on your face.
The quiet calm that arrives as the day slows down.

All of our cabins and tents are positioned to catch the morning light, framing the sunrise perfectly and the countryside beyond.

At this time of year the air can still feel a little cold, which somehow makes that moment when the sun hits your skin feel even better.

And when evening comes, the glow shifts.
Sometimes a good sunset, a warm campfire, and a cosy cabin is all you need.
