๐ The name "Rasta" comes from its historical heritage. In the Middle Ages Tbilisi was a trade-political-economic center of the Caucasus (it is about of the Silk Road), today's Meidan and then "Rastabazar" represented a trade highway between Europe and Asia.
โ๏ธ At the end of the 18th century, all the constructions that were associated with this name lost their function and importance. The building that once represented an integral part of "Rastabazar" was joined to the Georgian Orthodox Church, later in the 18th century it moved to the reign of the Armenian Gregorian church. Since this period the building acquired the title of the hotel, due to the fact that pilgrims from a distant way there rested. ๐บ๏ธ๐จ๐๏ธ
