Working under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeper will ensure that all guest bedrooms and public areas are cleaned to the highest standard.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

- Report to work in required uniform and in adhere to the Hotels Dress Code Policy all the time.

- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.

- Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.

- Clean and prepare guest rooms

- Walk all assigned rooms and public areas at beginning and end of shift to collect trash, soiled linen, etc.

- Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.

PREREQUISITES:

Must be able to speak, write and communicate fluently in English and at least one Ghanaian language.

Must be able to speak with others using clear and professional language. Support team to reach common goals. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.

EDUCATION:

Minimum Senior High School or professional certificate/diploma..

EXPERIENCE:

Previous housekeeping experience preferred. Freshers with no experience may also be considered.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Prepare delicious and nutritious meals for hotel guests and other clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The hotel cook, working independently, alongside other kitchen staff, and/or under the supervision of the hotel's Chef, will:

- Prepare meals to the specifications of the hotel and guests

- Make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns

- Prepare any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins

- Co-ordinate with front-office employees to ensure guests' orders are served on-time

- Provide estimates for expected food consumption and prepare bills of quantities for groups and conferences

- Maintain inventory of essential food supplies and ingredients

- Clean food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy

- Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment and supplies

- Keep accurate records and accounts of food purchases

- Provide recommendations to management about how to improve meal services

- Any other duties as may be assigned by management.

REQUIRED COOKING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

- Professional cooking/catering/culinary arts training with certificate

- Expert in preparing local, continental and international cuisines

- Experience with operating commercial kitchen equipment

- Basic computational skills (maths) and computer skills

- Strong organisational skills

- Ability to speak, write, and communicate fluently in English and at least one Ghanaian language

- Ability to work well with others, especially under pressure (as is the norm in busy commercial kitchens)

PLEASE NOTE:

The hotel's restaurant is currently closed due to COVID-19. Only a complimentary breakfast is provided to in-house guests. As a result, the cook will initially only be preparing breakfast for the few guests we host, and will be required to assist in other departments of the hotel (including Housekeeping and Frontdesk) until the restaurant is re-open.

Hopeville (formerly Meaglent Hotel) located at Pantang Junction, Adenta) has an immediate vacancy for a FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST.

The FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST represents the hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guest's stay. Duties and responsibilities will include: pre-arrival room checks, registering guests on arrival, assigning rooms, precessing guest checkout, answering enquiries via phone, email and social media, and all other duties assigned by manager.

PREREQUISITES:

Education: Minimum Senior High school graduate or equivalent, and candidates with higher credentials are encouraged to apply. Must speak, read, write, and able to communicate eloquently in English and a Ghanaian language.

Experience: Previous hotel or front-office related experience desired.

Night Duties: Applicants should be aware that the hotel's front-desk operates 24x7, and the successful candidate will alternate between day and night shifts.
