is a travel chef, food writer, and culinary archivist with over a decade of professional experience. Trained with a professional diploma in pâtisserie, his work explores the deep connections between food, culture, and identity across West Africa.

He recently completed an extensive journey across 10 countries in the region, documenting food traditions and the ways communities are connected through shared ingredients and culinary history. For Kwame-Olisa, food is more than nourishment, it is political, cultural, and a powerful archive of memory and place.

Through his travels and residency programs across West Africa, he continues to research sustainability, local food systems, and the stories behind everyday dishes.

We’re super excited to have him in residence at Meet Me There, where he will be sharing his work and culinary perspective through a short residency program working along side Irene and the team ♥️

A bittersweet moment for us at Meet Me There 💛

We’ve finally reached the point where we’ve decided to rebuild some of our oldest rooms. These spaces hold a special place in our hearts—they were lovingly rebuilt after the fire in 2013, and so much time and care has gone into them over the years. Saying goodbye isn’t easy, but we feel it’s time to begin a new chapter.

Our vision for the new rooms is rooted in sustainability and thoughtful design.

We’ll be building with rammed earth, a beautiful traditional building technique that reduces cement use, minimizes materials, and creates stunning earthy pastel colours with natural textures.

Each room will also feature en-suite compost toilets, helping us reduce water usage and move towards a more sustainable future.

With the road behind Meet Me There becoming busier over the years, the thick rammed-earth walls will also help with noise reduction, creating a quieter and more peaceful stay for our guests.

And perhaps one of the biggest benefits in our climate: cooling. The thick, organic walls of rammed earth naturally regulate temperature, keeping the rooms wonderfully cool.

We’re incredibly excited to bring these new rooms to life—and at the same time, we’re feeling a little nostalgic as we say goodbye to the old ones that have been part of our journey for so long.

In a hidden corner of Meet Me There you’ll find a beautiful shop filled with treasures. Almost everything in our shop has been made with love by our partner female artisans.

90% of sales go directly to our partner artisans while 10% goes into an entrepreneurship fund.

Our new summer house space ♥️

Perfect for watching the slow days drift by at Meet Me There and even more perfect for morning or evening yoga sessions.

We designed this new space so our guests can interact with our beautiful lagoon and our luscious garden both at time. We also incorporated a wind catcher into the design meaning there are gorgeous cool winds drifting through the day. This means no fans are needed reducing our energy consumption.
