On Wednesday 29th October, 2025, I received Madam Penny Dennis , Deputy Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, who is on a short working visit to Sunyani and Techire , together with Sennami, the policy officer
Whilst at the Airport, I introduced her to Bishop Mathew Kwasi Gyamfi, President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Ghana, who was on the same flight to Sunyani.
Bishop Gyamfi seized the opportunity to welcome Madam Penny to the Bono Regional Capital, encouraging her to feel at home and enjoy the beautiful SunCity of Ghana . She thanked the Bishop for the warm reception and expressed her excitement at visiting Sunyani for the first time in her two years stay in Sunyani .
Our first point of call was the Sunyani Youth Development Association’s Center, a facility that received a 37, 000 ( thirty seven thousand dollar)funding from the Australian Government, through the DAP program.six years ago and guaranteed by Yours Truly. The Deputy High Commissioner was pleased to note that the project was growing from strength to strength and had churned out a lot young people as young entrepreneurs etc..
We subsequently proceeded to the office of the Regional Co-ordinating Council to pay a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Joseph Addai Akwaboah. Although a REGSEC Meeting was in session, the Minister made time to engage with us at short notice . Discussions centered on areas of mutual benefit between Ghana and Australia.
The last place we visited was the Sunyani Technical University where a Management Meeting was in session.
However, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. ING Kwadwo Adinkrah Appiah and his Team paused in order to meet us and I must say the engagement was extremely cordial. Discussions centered on
Areas of scholarships for faculty members in engineering, sustainability, Agric , food security technologies, exchange programs for students, among others.
He called for stronger collaboration between the University and the High Commission for their mutual benefit and also expressed appreciation to yours truly, a friend of both the Commission and the University for making the meeting possible
