Why It Is Important To Pray For Leaders!

"And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it."
1 Chronicles 21:1-2

Satan targets leaders because he knows their decisions and actions affect a lot of people. A wrong decision by a husband can have a permanent effect on his wife and children. A wrong decision or action by a pastor can cause people to backslide and affect individuals and families. A wrong decision by a president can plunge a country into war, poverty and crime. Satan wanted to attack Israel but he did it by attacking the leader, David. He provoked him to make a wrong decision.

The original meaning of that Hebrew word means "to prick". David had a thought flash through his mind; that he should number Israel, a decision which was against the will of God. It looked like just a simple thought and decision but he was enticed, moved and persuaded by an unseen being, the devil.

Let us pray for our leaders that the Holy Spirit will influence their decisions because whether we like them or not, their decisions have an effect on us, directly or indirectly. Pray for governments, husbands, pastors, and business leaders because the devil is after them. Blessings.
