Vanessa Beecroft’s work has long explored the relationship between the individual and the group, using carefully composed bodies, gestures and arrangements to question ideas of identity, femininity and collective behaviour.

VBGDW, from 2000, belongs to this language of staged photography, occupying an intriguing space between image and performance. The figures appear at once present and deliberately composed, creating a sense of tension between intimacy and spectacle.

Karim Rashid’s design language is instantly recognisable: fluid lines, organic forms, unexpected colour and a playful approach to the objects that surround us. At Semiramis, that vocabulary runs through every room. Furniture, surfaces, lighting and architectural details are treated as part of one continuous visual language: energetic, tactile and deliberately removed from the conventions of traditional hotel design.

Created in 2001 by British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster, YE$ was born out of a fascination with money, glamour, and the seductive excesses of consumer culture. It has been lighting up the Semiramis lobby since 2004, which feels like a rather appropriate welcome.
