“Every image unfolds a distinct narrative, a fragment that subtly evokes what came before and hints at what might unfold beyond the frame”

Athens-based artist and photographer, Spyros Vasilas (Spyros Vasilas) practises primarily in analogue photography. His sentimental frames move spontaneously between the candid and the erotic, capturing the human body, gesture and fleeting glimpses of intimacy. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Spyros has a career in medicine.

Through movement, blur and grain, his lens focuses on exposure and anonymity. Figures drift in and out of view, resisting the stillness of the image itself.

His work has been exhibited at , among others.

“When working on my collages I’ve always looked to find a balance between the ugly and the beautiful, and the most successful ones usually end up landing somewhere in the middle. That sweet spot is a good place to be.”

Crafting compositions exclusively with found paper and vintage ephemera, UK-based mixed-media artist Jake Kennedy (✂️ jake kennedy) has been transforming forgotten fragments into analogue collages since the mid-1990s.

Without sketches or predetermined ideas, each work unfolds through cutting, scratching, tearing and rebuilding - guided by intuition and the materials themselves.

With over three thousand collages created across three decades, Kennedy continues to reveal new possibilities within the hidden life of printed matter.
