“I recently came across something Blaise Pascal wrote about the infinite nature of the universe: the centre is everywhere, the limit nowhere. That struck me.”

Artist works across photography, video, and installation. Originally from the Italian Alps and now based in Lausanne, her practice is shaped by an ongoing dialogue between place, the body, and feminine identity.

Working from an intuitive and autobiographical perspective, Deporta draws on her surroundings and close relationships. Through photography she seeks to create situations within which she can perform and interact intuitively, encouraging coincidence and allowing space for the present.

Her rural upbringing continues to inform her visual language, resulting in imagery that preserves natural and raw honesty. She has been part of solo and group exhibitions in Seoul, Berlin, London, Tokyo, Switzerland, Greece, and Italy.
