«Θα κάνει πολύ κρύο αυτή την εποχή, ε;»
«Θα πρέπει να έβρεξε πολύ εκεί πάνω!»
Πόσες φορές έχουμε ακούσει αυτές τις κουβέντες στην πόλη της Χίου, κάθε φορά που λέμε πως θα επιστρέψουμε στη Βολισσό!
Κι όμως… 🌞
Πολύ συχνά, μόλις προβάλεις από τις Αψιλές, με τη θάλασσα και τα Ψαρά να απλώνονται μπροστά σου, αντικρίζεις έναν ήλιο… μα τι ήλιο! Ακόμη κι αν ξεκίνησες από την πόλη με συννεφιά ή και βροχή!
Και όσο για τη θερμοκρασία; Πολλές φορές θα εκπλαγείτε ευχάριστα, καθώς στη Βολισσό μπορεί να είναι υψηλότερη απ’ ό,τι στην πόλη.
Είναι λογικό, βέβαια, όταν ακούμε «βόρεια Χίος», να σκεφτόμαστε κρύο, αέρα και κακοκαιρία. Όμως, η πραγματικότητα συχνά μας διαψεύδει! Η βορειοδυτική πλευρά του νησιού έχει το δικό της, ιδιαίτερα ευχάριστο κλίμα και τις δικές της μικρές εκπλήξεις.
Γι’ αυτό, τώρα που ο χειμώνας πλησιάζει, βάλτε τη Βολισσό στο πρόγραμμα! Για μια μονοήμερη εκδρομή ή μια χαλαρή απόδραση του Σαββατοκύριακου, για μια βόλτα στη φύση, για καθαρό αέρα, όμορφες εικόνες και, φυσικά, καλό φαγητό — γιατί η εκδρομή χωρίς φαγητό δεν είναι εκδρομή! 😉🍷
Μην αφήνετε τις προκαταλήψεις για τον καιρό να σας κρατούν μακριά.
Η Βολισσός σάς περιμένει και τον χειμώνα. Και ποιος ξέρει; Μπορεί να σας υποδεχτεί με έναν ήλιο που θα σας κάνει να αναρωτηθείτε γιατί δεν ανεβαίνετε συχνότερα! Βολισσός, Βορειοδυτική Χίος.☀️. “You’re heading up to Volissos? Oh, I bet you’ve got the fireplace going up there!”
“It must be freezing at this time of year, right?”
“I bet it’s been raining a lot up there!”
How many times have we heard these comments in Chios town whenever we mention that we’re heading back to Volissos?
And yet… 🌞
So often, just as you come into view of the landscape from Apsiles, with the sea and the island of Psara stretching out before you, you’re greeted by sunshine. And what sunshine! Even when you’ve left town under grey skies or even in the rain!
And the temperature? You might be pleasantly surprised. Quite often, it can actually be warmer in Volissos than in Chios town.
Of course, it’s only natural to associate the northern part of the island with cold weather, strong winds and rain. But the reality can be quite different! The northwestern coast of Chios enjoys its own pleasantly mild climate and has a few lovely surprises in store.
So, as winter approaches, why not put Volissos on your list? Whether you’re planning a day trip or a relaxing weekend escape, come and enjoy the countryside, the fresh air, the beautiful views and, of course, a good meal — because no Greek outing is complete without one! 😉🍷
