There are two ways to reach the island of Crete:
BY BOAT: From Piraeus port, daily departures to Souda port of Chania or to the port of Heraklion. BY PLANE: There are two international airports on the island: in Chania and in Heraklion. DISTANCES
Chania Airport: 49 km (45 min. drive to Kavros village). Souda Port of Chania: 23 km (20min. Heraklion Port or Airport: 100 km (70 min. From Chania airport or Souda port: Follow the signs to the highway in the direction of Rethymnon. Upon reaching Georgioupoli exit, decrease your speed. After 5 km you will reach the tourist village of Kavros. At the first exit turn right and drive for about 300m. At the crossroad turn right and drive for another 300m. At your right you will see a sign Villa Solaris. Turn right and after few meters you will reach Villa Solaris. From airport or harbour of Heraklion: Follow the signs to the highway in the direction of Rethymnon – Chania. Pass all the exits to Rethymnon and continue, headed in the direction Chania. After the exit to Episkopi, decrease your speed. 4 km later, on your right-hand side, you will see a sign marking the end of Rethymnon prefecture. 2 km later you will reach the tourist village of Kavros. Keep your eyes on your left-hand side. The first exit is at the BP Petrol Station, don’t turn there but turn very carefully left at the next (second exit) to Kavros. Drive for about 300m.
