Hi guys, the charity we support every year for anyone interested in learning more about sea turtles 😀

Join ARCHELON for a unique experience on the nesting beach of Chania. Learn all about the loggerhead sea turtles, their nesting habits, and how we protect them during the summer months. Guided by experienced volunteers, this activity offers an inspiring look into sea turtle conservation, perfect for visitors of all ages!

Hi guys and ladies 😃

On Tuesday 17/6/2025, the 4th Traditional Strata of the Municipality of Chania will begin with the participation of all Associations, in an event that will embrace the Venetian Port area and where the Rizitiko song will resonate and the most widespread dances of Crete will be presented. Each Association will participate with a 20-member team (10 men and 10 women).

This season over 1500 members from 16 Associations from Chania and 2 Associations from the Greek diaspora (United States of America and Australia) will participate.

Festivities will start from 19.40 as the dancers and singers start making their way across the harbour area and will meet up at the old mosque. Look at for dancers by the lighthouse!!

Two walks going on this weekend , Saturday afternoon to Drakona to do some stargazing and Sunday morning to Diktamos gorge.

Anyone who is interested let me know and we can reserve a place for you.

The Drakona walk has free transport from the bus station in Chania.

Almost the end of another season and I am happy to say that we collected just under 50e for the turtles!!

I have now made our donation to the teams that look after the nesting beaches 🐢🏖️🤩.

The traditional musical walk normally held in Chania harbour on Tuesdays will be in our village this Wednesday!!!

Starting at the top of our street and walking past the hotel, onto the main road and turning left at the traffic lights towards the old village area.

Everyone is free to join in, or just sit back and watch the final show in the village square. Just follow the music!!!
