For centuries, the Old Fortress of Corfu stood as the island’s shield against invading empires. Built and transformed by the Venetians, surrounded by the sea and carved into the rock, it witnessed battles, sieges and centuries of history.

Today, as you walk through its massive gates, it’s hard not to imagine the soldiers, cannons and ships that once defended this extraordinary island.

From day one I kept calling them ‘our English friends’… until the polite correction finally came 😅

Scottish hearts, warm smiles, and beautiful words in our guestbook ❤️

In the end, the guestbook was filled with lovely memories… and I left with a slightly better understanding of the United Kingdom 😄📚🏴
