Sunday mornings - Kynopiastes Village, Corfu

One of the little things we deliberately chose was not to have any clocks at "thedonkeyhut" because holidays should be about rest. About letting your body wake naturally, following the morning sun, enjoying a slow coffee and taking your time.

No alarms. No schedules. No rushing, just maybe the sound of the cockerel as the sun comes up and the church bells ringing down the lane.

Just quiet mornings, warm sunshine and the freedom to start the day when your body says it’s ready.

Summer in Kynopiastes, Corfu is a beautiful thing.

The grapes are ripening, our prickly pears and figs are sweetening, but the pomegranates are a little behind this year, maybe we had a little frost at the beginning of the year, I'm not sure.

What I do know is nature is everywhere and life feels wonderfully slow, peaceful village life, sunshine, fresh air and the beauty of the island right on your doorstep.

What a wonderful Sunday at the village festival in Kynopiastes!

On 15th August, the village came alive with music, laughter, great food and the warm spirit of togetherness. It was a beautiful opportunity for our guests at thedonkeyhut.com to experience and enjoy this traditional Greek festival, soaking up the authentic atmosphere and seeing the local community come together to celebrate, enjoying delicious souvlaki was all part of the experience and create memories to treasure. This is what true living is all about!
