⏳ #ΣανΣήμερα τη νύχτα της 10ης Απριλίου 1826 οι κάτοικοι του Μεσολογγίου αποφάσισαν την ηρωική έξοδο από την πολιορκημένη πόλη τους.

🖼 Ο σημαντικός αυτός πίνακας του Βρυζάκη απομνημονεύει ένα από τα πιο τραγικά και ξακουστά επεισόδια του Αγώνα.

Η σύνθεση αναπτύσσεται κατακόρυφα, χωρίς βάθος, και χωρίζεται σε δύο επίπεδα: στην ουράνια και την επίγεια ζώνη.

🪽 Στο ουράνιο τμήμα, στον άξονα, δηλαδή στο κέντρο της σύνθεσης, βλέπουμε ένθρονο τον Παντοκράτορα, μέσα σε μια χρυσή νεφέλη, να ευλογεί τους αγωνιστές, ενώ άγγελοι με κλάδους βαΐων και στέφανα δάφνης ετοιμάζονται να στέψουν τους ήρωες.

⚔Στο επίγειο τμήμα της σύνθεσης, πάνω σε μια ξύλινη γέφυρα, οι αγωνιστές ορμούν έξω από την πύλη του τείχους, κραδαίνοντας τα σπαθιά τους. Ακολουθούν τα γυναικόπαιδα. Κάποιοι είναι ήδη νεκροί, άλλοι χαροπαλεύουν. Οι Τούρκοι πάνοπλοι περιμένουν τους ηρωικούς αγωνιστές. Επικρατούν ταραχή, ένταση και μεγάλη δραματικότητα. Είναι σαν να ακούμε την κλαγγή των όπλων και τις κραυγές των πληγωμένων.

🖌 Ο ζωγράφος απεικόνισε τη σκηνή με ακρίβεια και επιμέλεια, προσέχοντας κάθε λεπτομέρεια. Πρόκειται για έναν πίνακα ρομαντικό στο πνεύμα, αλλά με εκτέλεση ακαδημαϊκή, καλλιγραφική, προσεκτική.

⏳ on the night of April 10, 1826, the inhabitants of the town of Missolonghi decided on a heroic exodus from their besieged city.

🖼 This major painting by Vryzakis evokes one of the most tragic and renowned episodes in the Greek struggle for independence.

The composition is arranged along a perpendicular axis, without depth, split into two sections: the heavenly and the earthly one.

🪽 In the heavenly section, on the axis, that is, in the centre of the composition, is seen the enthroned God in a golden cloud, blessing the fighters, while angels with laurel leaves and wreaths are preparing to coronate the heroes.

⚔In the earthly section, on a wood bridge, Greek fighters are seen brandishing their swords, storming out of the wall gate. Women and children follow. Some are already dead, others lie dying. The fully armed Turks are waiting for the heroic fighters. Uproar, tension, drama prevail. It is as if we could almost hear the noise of weapons and the cries of the wounded.

🖌 The painter has depicted the scene in great accuracy and meticulousness. This painting is romantic in spirit but academic, calligraphic, careful in implementation.
