Another amazing stay at Villa Zoe, and we’re already missing the locals (both human and feline!), the friendly tavernas and stunning beaches. The time always passes all too quickly, can’t wait to be back again!

We don't usually use this page for anything but showing you how lovely it is to stay here. Today's different. 🐾

For two months, people in the village knew about her — a stray cat limping on a badly hurt paw, too scared to let anyone close. This morning, she finally let us catch her.

We thought it would be a simple fix. It isn't. Her paw needs to be completely rebuilt, and in her back leg, the bone is exposed through the skin — she needs urgent surgery before it turns into a life-threatening infection. She'll also be neutered while she's there, so she never has to watch kittens of her own struggle to survive on these streets the way she has.
The surgery alone is €1,000.

Please help if you can — every euro matters right now. And if we raise more than she needs, every extra cent goes straight to Nicola, who has spent years quietly rescuing, feeding and caring for the strays around us, often completely alone and out of her own pocket, without ever asking for anything back.

And speaking of homes — Villa Zoe's own resident cat Olly is looking for one too. He was tamed as a kitten by guests last year alongside his brother and sister; his sister was killed at around 3 months old, his brother was later adopted, and now it's just Olly, who just wants to be cuddled and around people. He's white, and in Crete that can be dangerous — white cats are prone to developing skin cancer young — so if you'd love to give a gentle, affectionate cat a safe home, he's neutered, chipped, vaccinated and ready to travel.

She trusted us enough to finally be caught. Please help us make sure that trust was worth it. 💛

So, finally we can let the cat out of the bag and reveal the 2nd bathroom we have upstairs!! Was a surprise for mum and dad but, now they arrived we don't have to keep it secret anymore!! 😁
Water tank removed from the terrace and placed on the roof leaving a lot more space and hence we've added an additional table and chairs to have 2 separate terrace areas.
Downstairs, a brand new large sofa bed to accommodate additional guests.

Lovely to be back 'home'. Weather a bit wild and plenty to do to get ready for summer 2026 but for now, time for a walk in the sunshine (and wind) and go for some lunch ☺️🥰🇬🇷
