This morning, the harbour is almost like a mirror. The water is still, the boats rest quietly at their moorings, and the first golden light touches the waterfront of Pothia.

Happy Sunday! There is always something happening in Pothia .
This morning there was a very live but peaceful protest of the fishing boats, on the high price of fuel and inadequate subsidies. The harbour was definitely more lively and graphic than a usual Sunday morning.

Summer may be officially over… but at Archontiko, it’s still on the breakfast table. ☀️💜

The temperatures are still in the mid-20s, the sea is still warm, and we’re still enjoying one of the sweetest gifts of the Greek summer:

fresh local figs.

And yes — there are still plenty of them waiting for our guests at breakfast. 😊

The other side of Kalymnos. 🐐

Beyond the harbour and the blue Aegean, the landscape quickly becomes wild, rugged and wonderfully unexpected.

A guest captured these Kalymnian locals high on the rocks — just one more reason to get out and explore beyond Pothia.
