AKRO GIALI this name is indeed right for this tavern that abstains only 5 meters from the beach. It is the older tavern in the region of Kato Zakros, the building that was built in 1898 and had the name Maria. In 1991 Nikos Perakis and his wife, Tania, undertook the tavern and since then they offer with love and taste to their customers genuine traditional Cretan and Greek cuisine. They give big i

mportance to the quality and to all the materials that they use, taking into consideration always the local production and chastity. The oil is from the olive trees of Nikos, the vegetables from the farmers of region as well as the meet from cattle-breeders of region. Kato ZakrosAs long as the fresh fish, it is daily provided by the captains Manolis, Giorgos and Kostas that is given to us straight from their caiques. In the summertime you can see celebrations for marriages and christenings or other feasts that take place with traditional live music and dance up to the morning. This way is given the possibility to the visitor to know the hospitality and the customs of our place. Here, next to the sea, you will find us ready to serve you from early in the morning to enjoy your breakfast or coffee and as the day rolls we serve you refreshments or fresh juice and for the older people a cold beer or ouzo with chosen titbits. Kato ZakrosWhile you are enjoying the crystal waters under the boiling hot helium we prepare for you the lunch as you wish escorted with abundant wine of your choice. In the afternoon you can enjoy your ice-cream while you enjoy the immense light of the blue sea and in the dinner the west of helium that is magic. Nikos can provide you with lot of information as he speaks 4 languages (English, German, French, and Italian). At the same time he is the householder of rooms "Coral" and person in charge for the rooms "Athena" in the beach as well as for "Katerina" Apartments.
