Why Oleanders?

Oleanders is our home. Me, my family and also many friends have created unforgettable memories here. In 2017 we decided we wanted to share the joy this house offers with you.

The inside

Oleanders is a traditional house built in cycladic style on the rocky slopes of Ioulida, Kea. This means that you can actually see (and touch!) the rock on which it is built. Bed and sofas are designed in such a way so that when you lie down you become part of the house. Have I mentioned that you will have the most peaceful naps of your life here? If you are here with family, friends or your significant, other the cool Aegean breeze and the shade of the strategically planted trees compose the ideal conditions for your relaxation.

The house accommodates up to 10 people in the two bedrooms on the ground floor and the couches on the first, which will certainly make you relax. In the property you will find our fully-equipped kitchen and bathrooms. You may ask yourself, “ That’s nice but would it be a suitable place o spend a week or or in?”. Yes! During our summers here it happened that we had guests, meaning that 8 people would spend more than a week together under the same roof. The house has always accepted and completed the challenge successfully! There are both a dishwasher and a washing machine, all the linens you may need and bathroom towels. Other electrical appliances such as toasters, ovens (both normal and microwave), coffee makers and hair driers are also available.

We know that where there is cooking there may be accidents. That’s why we have taken into account your safety. There are smoke detectors on the ceiling and a fire extinguisher near the stove. When you check in I will be there to give you some details and tips so that you don’t face any problems during your stay here. There is also a booklet in case you forget any of them.

I think we talked enough about the internal of Oleanders, let’s discuss the fun part now!

The outside

Do you like coffee? Even if you don’t, here you can see three spots where you can enjoy breakfast or your evening coffee. On your right, you can see a balcony on the first floor. You can watch the breathtaking view while enjoying your beverage. It fits up to two people, so the rest can go all the way to the left part of the picture, behind the white oleanders tree. You can’t see it, but a little table and some chairs are waiting for you there. Just above that little yard, you can find the one thing (apart from the fundamental rock) that makes Oleanders unique.

Do you enjoy baking in a wood oven or having a barbecue? This part of the house is the place for you. Although we will need to discuss the proper way of using these facilities beforehand, you are free to use them. So gather your friends and family to Oleanders!

And now, I’ve got you where I want you! *evil laugh*. The last and the best part of Oleanders, the most romantic and the clearest view of the sun setting behind the Athenian hills!

You know what? The only thing I can say, that isn’t said by this photo, is that after the sunset having a drink in the starlit night is more than you can expect.
