Until We Meet Again in Spring – The Wild Cyclamen Stone House & Estate 🌸🏡

As of today, October 12th, we have officially closed our doors for this season. 🤍

As the days grow quieter and nature slowly settles into its autumn rhythm, we take a moment to look back with gratitude on another beautiful season filled with wonderful guests, warm memories, kind moments, and meaningful connections.

Thank you to everyone who chose The Wild Cyclamen Stone House & Estate for their stay in Corfu, who appreciated the peaceful surroundings, the old stone walls, the Mediterranean garden, and the simple beauty of slowing down and reconnecting with nature. 🌿✨

Every visit has been a little part of our story, and we are truly grateful to have shared this place with you.

🌸🌿 Wild Cyclamen - The “Kopeloula” of Corfu 🌿🌸

🌺 The most common species of cyclamen in Greece is Cyclamen graecum, which blooms in autumn and produces beautiful purple flowers. It grows at low altitudes and is particularly widespread in uncultivated areas.

🍃🌸 In the natural landscapes of Corfu, it can often be spotted from October onwards, captivating everyone with its delicate beauty.

📸💜 Photographs of this charming wildflower are frequently shared on social media from different parts of the island, both by Corfu locals and by foreigners who live there permanently and are fascinated by its vibrant colour, distinctive leaves, and natural elegance.

🌿💕 In the Corfiot countryside, this flower has traditionally been known as “Kopeloula” (Little Girl), a charming local name passed down through generations and still used today.

🐾 A little love for our garden cat 🐾

One of the sweetest parts of welcoming guests to The Wild Cyclamen Stone House & Estate is seeing the love they share with the little souls who live around our home. 🤍

Our garden cat has received so much kindness, attention and affection from our guests over the years. Some have taken the time to feed her, others have simply stopped for a little cuddle, and many have left with her becoming a small but unforgettable part of their stay. 🐱🌿

We are truly grateful to every guest who has cared for her, talked to her, spoiled her and treated her with such tenderness. ❤️

Thank you for loving one of our little residents as much as we do.
She may be a cat of the garden, but somehow, she becomes a tiny part of every guest's story. 🐾🌸

🫒 A Tradition Rooted in Our Land 🌿

For many years, the olive harvest has been a cherished tradition at The Wild Cyclamen Stone House & Estate- a special time when we return to the rhythms of the land and to a way of life that has been part of our family for generations.

Every autumn, our olive trees become the heart of the estate. The days are spent among the trees, carefully gathering the olives by hand and working together, just as it has been done for many years.

This year, our olive harvest begins in November. 🌿🫒

It is more than simply collecting olives. It is a connection with the land, with nature, with family, and with the timeless traditions of Corfu. The scent of the trees, the sound of the leaves, the earth beneath our feet and the quiet rhythm of the harvest are all part of what makes this time of year so special to us.

At The Wild Cyclamen, we are happy to share not only a place to stay, but a little piece of the life, nature and traditions that make our land so meaningful to us.

🌸 The Story Behind the Name: Wild Cyclamen 🌿

There is a little story behind the name of our home.

We named it Wild Cyclamen after the delicate wild cyclamens that appear naturally around οur yard at this time of year. 🌸

As summer slowly gives way to autumn, these beautiful little flowers begin to emerge among the olive trees, rocks and shaded corners of the island. They grow quietly and freely, without being planted or cared for- a small reminder of the wild, natural beauty that has always been part of Corfu.

We loved the idea that our place should carry the name of something that belongs so naturally to this place.

Wild Cyclamen is more than just a name.
It reflects what we hope you will feel here: a slower pace, nature all around you, the charm of an old stone house, and a little escape from the noise of everyday life. 🍃

And every year, when the first cyclamens appear, we are reminded once again of why we chose this name. 🌸

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Jean-Baptiste & Maroua, who came to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary in Corfu. 🥂✨

It was truly special to be part of such a beautiful occasion. Their warmth, kindness and respect made hosting them an absolute joy. We prepared a little anniversary surprise for them, with our warmest wishes for many more years of love, happiness and beautiful adventures together. 💕🌿
