The Pelion Train is probably the No1 attraction of our area! Built more than 100 years ago, it connected Volos to Ano Lechonia and then with Milies. It brought life and prosperity to the local villages during the previous century. Now, it works as a year-round tourist line (Ano Lechonia - Milies) that is quite famous all over Greece. This video was filmed during a warm and sunny January day with the train fully booked by visitors.
As locals, we appreciate the Pelion Train for another big reason. It's whole infrastructure creates a magnificent and easy path for walking/trekking that a lot of people enjoy. The railway line is easily reached by the coastal villages and through beautiful bridges, stunning views, dense forests and deep canyons people get in touch with Pelion's nature!
We highly recommend a visit either by ridding the Train or on foot for as much time you feel comfortable since there are multiple ways to reach and leave the line!
