My heart is breaking... 💔 Nature is crying out for help, and we just leave our mess behind.
Today I want to share something that is causing me genuine pain. I feel so helpless, and I simply can't find the right words.
Yesterday, I went to Vourvourou. It seems like an absolute paradise—incredible nature, azure water that people travel thousands of kilometers to see... But what I saw there left me in complete shock. There are used wet wipes scattered EVERYWHERE. Literally under every bush, on the sand, along the paths.
How is this possible?! How can this even happen? People come to enjoy this unbelievable beauty, wipe their hands, and just throw this dirty synthetic garbage right where they sit and where their children play! For some reason, many people mistakenly think wet wipes are just paper. But no, they are plastic that does not decompose and will poison the earth for years.
And this nightmare is happening not only there. Look at these photos. This is not a dump. These are places where we all go to relax.
Just look at this horror: torn bags with rotting leftover food tossed straight into the dry grass, glass bottles ready to start a fire from a single ray of sunshine, tin cans that will stay here for hundreds of years. Someone came, had a picnic, and then just got up and left, leaving a trail of ugliness and destruction behind them.
Inside, there is only emptiness and a bitter question: Just why, and why does this keep happening?
How can you sit amidst this beauty, breathe this air, and then leave a mountain of trash behind? Is it really that hard to take back what you brought with you when it was full and heavy? A bag with empty cans and dirty wipes weighs mere grams!
This isn't just trash. It's a betrayal. A betrayal of the earth that gives us strength. It's a slap in the face to future generations and the slow murder of nature.
I am begging you, people! Please stop. Nature cannot defend itself.
Every time you spend time on the beach, in the forest, or in the mountains—please, take your trash with you. Regular trash, wet wipes, and cigarette butts alike. And if you have it in you—take someone else's, too. Let's fix this terrible mistake together before we turn these corners of paradise into plastic deserts.
My heart weeps looking at this nightmare. Please, let this post make at least one person stop and think. 🌍
