KERATEA HONEY FESTIVAL 2026. Those staying at our residence on 29 & 30 August will have a wonderful opportunity to discover one of our region’s true treasures: the honey of East Attica.
This exceptional honey stands out for its rich aroma and unique flavour, thanks to the distinctive local flora: thyme, savory, heather, sage, oregano, wildflowers and even… vineyards! In the Mesogeia region, even our vineyards leave their own special “signature” on the honey since during the flowering season, bees collect nectar and pollen from vine blossoms as well, contributing to the distinctive aromas and flavours that characterise the honey produced in this area.
At the KERATEA HONEY FESTIVAL, you will have the opportunity to meet local beekeepers, taste and purchase honey and other bee products, and learn more about this precious gift of nature which, for thousands of years, has held a special place in human life — both as an exquisite delicacy and as one of nature’s most treasured traditional remedies.
Among the festival stalls, you will also find other local producers offering jams, traditional sweets and a variety of regional products.
And, of course, as no Festival would be complete without entertainment! The Municipality of Lavreotiki has organised a two-day music festival at the 2nd Primary School of Keratea, with free admission:
● Saturday, 29 August: Concert with Pantelis Thalassinos
● Sunday, 30 August: “The Folk Songs of Polykandriotis”, featuring Thanasis Polykandriotis, with special guest Christos Menidiatis
Two days filled with honey, local flavours and music, in the heart of Keratea! Don't miss it!
