My mother in 1971! a great soul. There aren’t words to encompass the purity of her intensity and goodness. Knowing what it feels like to have been given wings and a sense of the human capacity for holiness. Saint Pauline! Whose blessings are the wind, the warmth, the imagination and the brightness in all that is lovely, true, unbreakable and fragile. She is with me always. And on Mother’s Day and every day I recommit to honoring her example.
