A wonderful encounter with a monk seal pup in one of the quieter bays of Tilos. The pup was observed playing and fishing far out in the bay, before coming to the rocky bay side for a seal siesta. At this point Peter very carefully clambered across the rocks to get close enough to film this amazing video. For over an hour it was just floating on its side and having a snooze, coming up for a breather every four or five minutes. Very few monk seals have been seen snoozing in the wild, so this is exceptional coverage.
