Χαλκιδική– Εκκλησάκι Παναγίας φανερωμένης, Νέα Σκιώνη
Η παράδοση λέει ότι, το 16ο αιώνα ένας χωρικός της περιοχής είδε ένα φως στη θάλασσα να πλησιάζει στην ακτή. Νομίζοντας ότι πρόκειται για πειρατικό καράβι, επέστρεψε στο χωριό να ειδοποιήσει τους συγχωριανούς του.
Το πρωί, όταν το φως έφτασε στην ακτή, είδαν ότι ήταν ένα μεγάλο κομμάτι μάρμαρο, με την Παναγία ζωγραφισμένη πάνω του, που επέπλεε στη θάλασσα. Οι χωριανοί εντυπωσιάστηκαν από το θαύμα και ζήτησαν από τον κυβερνήτη της περιοχής να τους επιτρέψει να χτίσουν ένα εκκλησάκι για να στεγάσουν την εικόνα. Αυτός όμως αρνήθηκε, έριξε κάτω την εικόνα και άρχισε να την ποδοπατά. Η εικόνα έγινε ξαφνικά μαλακή σαν πηλός και παγίδεψε τα πόδια του μπέη, μη αφήνοντάς τον να ξεφύγει. Τότε ο κυβερνήτης μετάνιωσε, και ζηώντας συγνώμη επέτρεψε να χτιστεί το εκκλησάκι αυτό.

The tradition says that in the 16th century, a villager of the area saw a light in the sea to approach the coast. Thinking that it is a pirate ship, he went back to his village to inform the other villagers. In the morning, when the light came nearer, they saw that it was a floating big piece of marble picturing Virgin Mary on it. The villagers were impressed by that miracle and asked the governor of the area to let them build a small church so as to put the holy icon inside. However, he denied, he dropped down the icon and started to step on it. Suddenly, the icon became soft like clay and trapped the governor’s feet so he couldn’t escape. Then, the governor regretted and apologizing he let the villagers build that church. Local tradition says that the icon cries before something bad happens in the country
