2 if the most important Archeological sites if Messinia’s Archaeological sites are only a short drive from the ! They are two of the most important in Greece and are the pinnacle of the civilaization of the Messinian land. We are of course referring to Ancient Messini and the Palace of Nestor. Ancient Messini is the best preserved city of ancient Greece, with impressive buildings that overwhelm the visitor with awe. The palace of Nestor, just outside Pylos , in the village of Chora is one of the most impressive Mycenaean palaces and not only because of its size. Visitors can even admire the throne room of the Homeric king, the wise advisor of the Achaeans during the siege of Troy. 🇬🇷

Παναγία Ελεήστρια, Κορώνη Μεσσηνίας. Μόνο 20 λεπτά από το
Η Παράδοση λέει, πως το 1897, η Παναγία εμφανίσθηκε στο όνειρο μια ηλικιωμένης γυναίκας, της Μαρίας Σταθάκη και της υπέδειξε που θα βρούν την Εικόνα Της. Η γυναίκα αυτή, απέκρυψε το όνειρό της από τους Κορωναίους συμπολίτες της, φοβούμενη ότι θα την περάσουν για τρελλή. Τότε η Παναγία εμφανίσθηκε πάλι στο όνειρό της και όταν ξύπνησε η ηλικιωμένη γυναίκα, είχε σημάδια στο χέρι της. Όταν ξύπνησε, φοβήθηκε και το είπε στους Κορωναίους και αφού έσκαψαν, βρήκαν την Εικόνα της Ελεήστριας. Μετά από την εύρεση της Θαυματουργής Εικόνας, έχτισαν τον Ναό της Παναγίας της Ελεήστριας, που εγκαινιάσθηκε το 1900.
