"If you’re hopping on a ferry or cruise from Greece this summer this post is for you!

I recently stayed at The Alex Monte Kastella and thought it was the perfect base near Piraeus Port, Athens.

I chose this hotel because it has stunning sea view rooms and an atmospheric rooftop restaurant where I could enjoy a leisurely breakfast with views of picturesque Mikrolimano, the Athens Riviera and the Acropolis.

The staff are great at arranging airport and cruise port transfers and the service overall was exceptional.

It took less than 10 minutes and cost 7 Euros in a taxi to reach my cruise ship in the morning. I was quite sad to leave to be honest!"
