Sutor Chic Manor
The Manor Sutor is an impressive two-floor residence due to its interior architecture. This building is the result of two, two-storey, houses built vertically, with entrances from two parallel alleys of the city. Built in the 17th century by Venetians, they passed into the property of the Ottomans and over the last centuries they transferred to the property of Cretans. This characterizes it as a historic listed monument that has been renovated with respect for its history and brings a large part of the heritage of our country.
Its architectural traits betray its age and the identities of the cultures that have been left in it. All the openings feature the characteristic stone-built chamber, the fireplace used as an oven, the courtyard, the well and the splendid hamam. At the point where Sutor's pool places today, the inner courtyard of the second residence was set, bordering on the historic Public Baths of the old city and their imposing vaults, emerging from the stone-built wall.We are in the heart of Rethymno's Old Town under the walls of Fortezza fortress, allowing visitors to easily access and taste the colorful and fragrant streets of our historic city.
