is 13km away from the center of Rethymno in the east. The ideal location of the villa with a panoramic view to the gulf of Rethymno and Chania offers tranquility and relaxation to its tenants. Our guests can enjoy the Cretan sun ¸taste the fresh vegetables of the organic garden, explore nature around the area and entertain at the same time. The house was built with materials friendly to nature and humans in order to improve his bioclimatic behavior and healthy stay.The external hand-formed luteinizing plasters ensure breathability of materials and reconciliation with the colors of the surrounding. In the interior, the technique of the hand-formed pressed mortar under which the walls are made offers intimacy and warmth to anyone who decides to experience it! Natural, warm and earthly materials cover both the internal and external floor as well as the pergola in front of the living room, a place where you can find pleasure in having your breakfast or relaxing, while watching the idyllic sunset. The large openings of the living room allow nature to "pe*****te" the building giving the impression that the tradition speaks to contemporary life. During the mild winter of Crete, you can delight in the warmth of the energy-generating fireplace and relax under the sound of the olive logs crackling in it. The apartment is perfectly situated in a place to access easily the lovely beaches and to explore all the other interesting sites that central Crete has to offer. Its location is terrific for visiting the whole central region of this beautiful island, where the real Cretan spirit is hidden! The apartment is tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and relaxing to spend time in. While entering the house there is an open area, consisting of a huge living room with 2 sofas, a fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen. On the left side, there is an area designed as a study with a library, a sofa and a table-desk with laptop for your needs. The porch under the pergola is designed to offer direct view to the sea. It is a comfortable and shaded place to relax while enjoying the sunset every evening. On the same floor there is a bathroom with a shower and a bedroom with 2 beds, which can be transformed to a double one if needed. This room has a large balcony with view to the east side of the house. There is a vegetable garden in front of the balcony, where you can taste home-grown vegetables. The large master bedroom, which has its own wc, is on the sub-layer, higher than the rest of the house, with a view to the east garden, too. The house can accommodate 5 people in beds and up to 7 people, (a sofa bed easily converted into a 2 bed if necessary), or 3 adults and 4 children aged 6-12 years. General information
Just a 60 minute drive either from “Heraklio” airport or “Chania” airport. Both of these airports offer easy direct access from most European cities.
“Cretasunset” is located in a peaceful non-crowded, almost pastoral area with a lovely sea view, especially from the porch, where you can enjoy your breakfast. The house has direct access (230m) to the national road. This highway links Crete’s major cities in the north of the island so
you can explore other places easily either by car or by using public transportation. At this point of the highway you will find an automated teller machine, a mini market, a tourist shop for your daily provisions, a car rental and the station of the “yellow train”, which can take you to various destinations and see the sights around the area (the Monastery of Arkadi, Amnatos, Ancient Eleftherna, the gorge of Mylloi, Agia Irini etc). Moreover, there is medical assistance and a pharmacy. The local beach (Skaleta beach-230 m) is very nice. However, there are 2 other stunning beaches (Spilies and Geropotamos) within a 5 and 7 minute drive to the East, which I strongly recommend visiting. On the way to Rethymnon, you will find well-known tourist areas such as Adelianos Kampos, Platanias, Estavromenos, which are 7 to 10 minutes’ drive away. In those areas there are many shops, supermarkets, restaurants etc. In a 15 minute drive to the west, you arrive in Rethymno city, where you enjoy a walk in the picturesque narrow streets of the old town, visit the Venetian Harbour, see the archaeological site of the Venetian Fortress, walk along the beautiful sandy beach, which lies in front of the city.
