The seasons.

I have many conversations with my guests about when it is the best time to travel to Crete. 🛫🛬I think, it depends on how you personally want to spend your holiday.

If hiking and sightseeing is your favourite: Spring is your season. You can already swim, and the whole island is "dressed up in flowers".🥾🗺️🌷
If you dream about endless beach days, snorkeling, Life-Music-events, the Summer in Crete will make your dreams come true.

In Autumn you get a little bit of everything: the sea is heated up from the summer sun and with lower temperatures than August, you can visit all these magnificent places with ease.

If you’re lucky enough to enjoy a great view, chances are you’re standing on the shoulders of giants.
Here are a few photos from the early days—a glimpse into how it all began. It takes incredible vision and character to see potential where others see nothing. And it takes even more resilience to overcome the countless challenges that come with bringing that vision to life.

I’m grateful to the person who made this all possible—who built the walls and structure that have become a place of joy and peace for so many. If you’re blessed with something special, remember: it’s likely thanks to the hard work and sacrifice of someone who came before you.

Tabletop Paintings

Last winter, as I changed the exterior colors of the building, I also created these (and other) paintings. Each one draws from the same palette used throughout the building, acting like a thread that ties everything together, creating a sense of harmony.

Yesterday morning, I noticed a guest sitting quietly in the
morning light, completely immersed in one of the paintings. It struck me how beautiful it is to experience art in those rare moments when we feel truly relaxed and at peace.

My hope is that every guest who stays here finds that same sense of calm, allowing both themselves and their soul to recharge.

1504 it was built by the venetians. Later on they gifted it to the family still owning it today.
30 years ago it was rebuilt in its original architecture. Over the years I changed all the rent rooms to individual studios. Because it's central in the village all historical sights, the shops and restaurants are in walking distance. From the rooftop terrace you have a great view.

"Air". Jean Luc is a friend of mine and specializes in realism. The painted window was a gift and the room was renovated in colors suiting the painting. Thank you Jean Luc 🙏.

This is the studio "Antique". Most of the guests love the view the most, overlooking the valley straight to the sea. The room is characterized by the original stone elements and tries to embrace the long history of the building, dating back to 1504.

Introducing "Terra": In design it's a thought to reflect the surroundings of a house on the inside of it. This is the second collaboration with Maria Tzouknaki. She designed a abstract wall painting resembling the surrounding mountains. There are a lot of details we created, all referring to the beauty of nature.
