This time, we are delighted to welcome back Barafakas Winery—one of our favourite wineries and a cherished guest of our wine events for the third time. Renowned for its characterful wines and dedication to quality, Barafakas returns to Apollo Blue for another memorable gastronomic journey.

Curated by Andreas Matthidis, President of the Greek Sommeliers Association, each wine will be expertly presented and paired with a specially designed menu by consulting chef Dimitris Kontaratos.

Our talented culinary team has created a unique tasting menu, where every dish is thoughtfully crafted to enhance the character of each Barafakas wine. An evening where gastronomy and wine come together in perfect harmony, creating a truly memorable dining experience.

An Evening with Estate Chatzigeorgiou 🍷

On Friday 26 June, Apollo Blue welcomes Estate Chatzigeorgiou, one of Northern Greece’s distinguished family wineries, for an exceptional Wine Pairing Dinner at Taverna Blue.

Founded on a legacy that dates back to the 1950s in the renowned wine region of Kariani, Kavala, the estate is celebrated for wines that combine tradition, terroir and contemporary winemaking excellence. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and discover the wines of Vasilis Chatzigeorgiou, who will personally present the estate’s philosophy and labels.

The evening will be curated and presented by Andreas Matthidis, President of the Greek Sommeliers Association, while the Apollo Blue culinary team will create a specially designed menu to accompany each wine selection, with Dimitris Kontaratos as the consultant chef.

🍷 A Sold-Out Evening of Greek Wine & Gastronomy

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Taverna Blue for an unforgettable Wine Pairing Dinner with Aivalis Winery.

We were honored to welcome winemaker Christos Aivalis, who shared the story and philosophy behind some of Nemea’s most celebrated wines.

A carefully curated multi-course menu, created by the Apollo Blue culinary team in collaboration with Rhodian consulting chef Dimitris Kontaratos, was paired with selected Aivalis labels, highlighting the perfect harmony between Mediterranean cuisine and exceptional Greek wine.

From elegant whites to the winery’s renowned reds, each pairing offered a unique journey of flavors and aromas.

Many thanks to culinary team, our dedicated service team, our in-house sommelier, and the pianist Antonis Kizoulis for creating the perfect atmosphere throughout the evening.

A heartfelt thank you to Christos Aivalis, and all our guests for making this sold-out evening such a memorable success.
