In August 2007, we had the honour of providing accommodation to the cast and production team of the film "Mamma Mia", whilst they filmed on Skiathos Island, Greece. Our guests were very delighted to return to quiet, elegant surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the town, after long days of shooting to their choice of hotels in Skiathos.

Great Friday in Greece is a night not to be missed. One of the holiest days of the year marks the date when all people meet at the local churches to be part of the "Epitafios". A moving religious custom according to which the believers carry around the flowery figure of Jesus to the streets to honour his sacrifice. Skiathos is the only place in Greece where this custom keeps up exactly as it does in Agion Oros (Mount Athos); meaning that this mystical "burial service" lasts all night. The islanders keep the lights on their homes on, as well as incense burning at yards until 5.30 in the morning. Later, on Saturday morning they return to the church for the "First Resurrection" at 9:00. Happy Easter everyone!
