Winter Giola🌊❄
Some info about Giola lagoon:
The Giola lagoon in Thassos is known as the “Tear of Venus”. Legend says that this pool was created by Zeus, for Venus to swim. While another legend says that the lake was the eye of Zeus, for watching his mistress.
This lagoon, located near the village Astris (or Astrida), is often called the world’s most natural swimming pool.
You may have heard about the island of Thassos already: the mythological Sirens, who have attracted sailors with their beautiful singing, have resided here. The Aegean Sea rinses its shores and fills the pool with water. But since the pool is separated from the sea with a rock wall, the water in the lagoon is much warmer, making it much more pleasant to dive in.
