🌋 Many of you may have heard or read about the recent seismic activity on our beautiful island. While some reports may have exaggerated the situation, it’s true that we’ve experienced a period of increased tremors.
⛴️ It’s understandable that some residents, particularly families with children, chose to temporarily relocate to the mainland as a precaution during this time.
⚡️We experienced a series of tremors over a short period. Many of these were minor and went unnoticed by most residents. Some larger tremors were felt, but thankfully, they did not cause any damage.
💫Santorini’s dramatic and unique landscape is, in fact, a result of the island’s seismic and volcanic activity. This geological activity is part of what makes Santorini so special.
🗿Historically, earthquakes have posed a challenge for the island and its inhabitants. However, over time, the people of Santorini have developed and implemented measures to enhance our resilience to these natural events.
