Το πρωί της Μεγάλης Παρασκευής γίνεται η Αποκαθήλωση, οι καμπάνες βαράνε πένθιμα όλη τη μέρα. Τα παπαδοπαίδια παλιότερα αναλάμβαναν να μαζέψουν τα λουλούδια του Επιταφίου και να χτυπάνε τις καμπάνες. Άμα το παραέκαναν με το χτύπημα..., έπεφταν και καρπαζιές από τον νεοκόρο. Δεν ανέβαινε στο ψηλό καμπαναριό με τα πολλά σκαλοπάτια, τα περίμενε όταν κατέβαιναν από εκεί... Από το απόγευμα συγκεντρώνονται οι κανταδόροι στις εκκλησίες και ξεκινάνε τις πρόβες του «Αι γενεαί αι πάσαι...». Το βράδυ ξεκινά η περιφορά των Επιταφίων του Αγίου Δημητρίου, του Αγίου Νικολάου και του Αγίου Γεωργίου τα τελευταία χρόνια, με κοινό τόπο συνάντησης το «Παζάρι». Πάνω από τους δρόμους που περνάνε οι Επιτάφιοι δένονται γιρλάντες, από τις δύο άκρες των μπαλκονιών. Οι ενορίες συναγωνίζονται για τον καλύτερο Επιτάφιο και την καλύτερη χορωδία, με τη συμμετοχή πλήθους κόσμου. Στο Παζάρι δεν πέφτει καρφίτσα την Μ. Παρασκευή το βράδυ. Έπειτα γυρνάνε στις ενορίες ψάλλοντας και το «Αιωνία η μνήμη αυτών», με τη συγκίνηση να κορυφώνεται. Οι Επιτάφιοι παραμένουν για λίγο στις εισόδους των εκκλησιών και ο κόσμος περνάει από κάτω, μπαίνοντας στους ναούς.
