Wir hatten eine wundervolle Woche in Alexandra's Coffee House in Volimes. Dionisis und Kaiti waren unglaublich gute Gatgeber. Schon vor der Reise haben sie uns nach unseren Urlaubswünschen gefrsgt und uns mit vielen maßgeschneiderten Tipps versorgt. Während wir dort waren, waren sie immer für Informationen und weitere Tipps ansprechbar. Das Haus ist wirklich toll. Man spürt die Geschichte, die es hat, dank der dicken Mauern ist es angenehm kühl - trotzdem ist die Ausstattung modern und lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig.

Volimes ist empfehlenswert für alle, die mehr von ihrem Urlaub wollen, als jeden Tag an den Pool zu gehen. Ein wundervolles Bergstädtchen, in dem wir uns immer willkommen gefühlt hat. Hier ist man noch eher Besucher als Tourist.

Ein Mietwagen ist empfehlenswert. Wenn man einen hat gibt es jede Menge schöner Ausflugsziele. In einer Woche haben wir mit den Kids über 10 verschiedene Strände besucht, sodass der Badeurlaub auch nicht zu kurz kam.

Our hosts turned a simple vacation into an authentic experience. They welcomed us like old friends, offering us not only exceptional accommodation but also the best local recommendations. The location perfectly blends traditional design with modern comfort. The rooms are extremely spacious, bright, and impeccably clean. It is the kind of place where you arrive as a tourist and leave as part of the family. We can't wait to return!

From Navagio and hidden sea caves to turquoise channels and beaches only reachable by boat, this day with Konstantinos_boat_rentals showed us a completely different side of the island.
You can rent one of their boats and drive it yourself — no licence required — or book a private cruise with an experienced skipper.

Makris Gialos
Makris Gialos beach is located on the north-eastern side of the island, located between Alykes and the port of Agios Nikolaos, 8 kilometers from our accommodation
It has crystal clear, deep turquoise waters and is pebbly.
It is surrounded by steep cliffs and has impressive sea caves that are accessible for swimming.
It is considered an ideal spot for snorkeling and diving due to the clear seabed and caves. It has a limited number of umbrellas and sunbeds, while above the beach there are traditional taverns. Access is easy by road, as the main road passes just above, with a few steps leading to the coast.
Notes for 2026: Due to the many visitors, parking access to the beach fills up quickly during the summer months (July-August), so it is recommended to visit in the early morning or late afternoon.
