"70,000 live quails". That was the annual export from this very dock to Marseille back in the 1870s.
We didn’t know the full scale of it until we started digging through the old wood warehouse during restoration back in 2000.
What we found were19th-century trade ledgers, handwritten books and maritime archives that had been silent for over a century.
You can find them today in our archive room next to the reception, a small, handmade museum of the trade era that Alexandros Kyrimis will personally show you if you ask.
