Guatemala will be able to see the “Red Moon” tonight, Thursday, August 27.
It’s actually a deep partial lunar eclipse, not a total eclipse—but around 93–96% of the Moon will pass into Earth’s shadow, so it should look dramatically dark with a reddish/copper colour.

🇬🇹 Times for Guatemala
🌘 7:23 pm – eclipse begins (penumbral, very subtle)
🌑 9:12 pm – the noticeable partial eclipse begins
❤️ Around 10:15 pm – maximum eclipse / best time to look
🌕 11:13 pm – partial eclipse ends
1:01 am – entire event ends

So I'd definitely be outside around

10:00–10:30 pm if the clouds cooperate. You don't need binoculars or special glasses—it's completely safe to look at a lunar eclipse with the naked eye.

And yes… this is one of those nights where living in Guatemala is pretty damn special! 😍🌕❤️
